VDC secretary demands compensation of loot in war time


Falbes (Parbat), July 8: A conflict survivor has demanded compensation of the amount seized in the conflict time. Secretary of Beulibas VDC Punya Prasad Kafle demanded compensation of the amount looted by the then CPN (Maoist) cadres on 18 July 2004.
The rebel Maoist cadres had seized important documents and cash Rs 975,000 which he had brought to settle payment of the development works in Beulibas and Urampokhara VDCs.
A group comprising 20 Maoist cadres had arbitrarily taken away the cash and documents at the moment.
He complaint that though he had informed the District Development Committee and District Administration Office within a month of the incident he has not yet received any relief and compensation.
He further shared that he has become homeless for not receiving compensation of the amount seized by Maoist cadres for 12 years.
“Though it was the VDC’s amount I had settled the payment of different users committees, mothers’ groups and target groups on loan”, he said, adding “Though the country has witnessed peace since long back I am still pursuing for justice”. RSS
