Teej expenses in relief of Pyuthan landslide victims


Butwal, Aug 4: An organization of women based in Bhairahawa has publicly announced to provide the expenses – estimated for the celebrations of Teej festival – as a relief to the survivors of landslides and floods in Pyuthan.
Women members of Sirjansheel Haat (Creative Hand) decided to send the money allocated for Teej festival celebrations to the Pyuthan folks who were battered by frequent floods and landslides, said organization’s Chairperson Ramita Thapa Magar (KC).
The organization had granted Rs 51,000 to Satyasai Old-age Home and Rs 51,000 to flood and landslide survivors of Dang on the occasion of Teej festival in 2013. Likewise, in 2014, the organization had handed over a sum of Rs 51,000 to Abinash Helpless People Home Kotihawa in Rupandehi and Rs 100,000 to Teria Fauja Magar who stood first in DID Little Masters Dance Competition held in India.
Meanwhile, Nepal-India Friendship Society, Siddharthanagar, Bhairahawa has distributed relief to flood and landslide affected people in Marchabar.
The Society provided the relief support to 10 affected families of Gonaha VDC of Rupandehi district amid a programme. RSS
