Suspension bridge construction starts over Begkhola


Babiyachaur (Myagdi), Aug 22: A suspension bridge construction has started over the Begkhola river in Myagdi at a cost of more than Rs 30 million.

The District Development Committee is constructing the 365.8 metre long suspension bridge at a cost of Rs 32.2 million.

The bridge, which is more than hundred metres in height, will benefit at least 3,500 households of Kaligandaki’s 10 VDCs, Local Development Officer, Chiranjasbi Poudel said.

The bridge will be completed by next year, according to Poudel. The roundabout travel distance of 3 hours walk will be shortened to just 30 minutes once the bridge comes into operation, Consumer Committee Chairman, Netra Pun said. RSS
