Suicide bombings on Lebanon-Syria border kill 6

BEIRUT, June 27 (Xinhua) — A series of suicide bombings jolted a small village on the Lebanon-Syria border, killing at least six people and injuring 15 others, local media reported Monday.

All those killed in the explosions at Al Qat village in eastern Lebanon were civilians and three Lebanon soldiers were among the wounded, village mayor Bassi Mater told Voice of Lebanon radio.

Al Qat is home to a large number of Syrian refugees who have fled the war in Syria. The border area near Al Qat has seen many explosions since the war erupted in Syria in 2011.
