Stress on investigative news stories


Nepalgunj, Aug 21: Stress has been laid on enhancing the effectiveness of the National News Agency or RSS services.
In a meeting with a team of RSS Board of Directors here this morning, RSS correspondents in the region suggested expanding the reach of RSS service to the local media. Various media in the region should be encouraged to subscribe to RSS services, they said.
On the occasion, RSS General Manager Nirmala Acharya said RSS has in the recent times undergone significant changes, and that is services were becoming effective. She however expressed concern over the instances of theft of RSS products and said necessary discussion would be held over the opinions that RSS service charge was high.
RSS Board of Directors member Gangadhar Parajuli emphasized on giving priority to local and research-orientated news.
Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications and RSS board member Govinda Singh Bhandari expressed the commitment to work with a plan to increase the effectiveness of RSS services and manage RSS physical structures across the country.
The visiting team also urged the RSS correspondents to work with high morale and encouragement to help increase the effectiveness of RSS services.
On the occasion, RSS mid-western regional office Chief Niraj Gautam, Rapti Zonal office Chief Narayani Rajaure and Banke district correspondent Rakesh Kumar Mishra expressed their views on ways to enhancing the quality of RSS services. RSS
