Sharma says resignation for setting precedent


Kathmandu, Aug 12: Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairperson Janardhan Sharma today said he took the decision to resign from his post in order to set a precedent.

During the Committee meeting, Sharma shared that he resigned in the belief over the trend of the opposition party heading the Committee leadership and to open the path for such leadership.

The meeting endorsed the resignation submitted by Sharma. “I have decided to separate myself from the responsibility as the chairperson in view of the change in the political scenario which heralds a change in responsibility and duty,” Sharma confided.

He also took the opportunity to note that during his tenure decisions of long term impact on the issues of national interest were taken and that the decisions and system set during the term would make huge contribution in national and international level as well as on public interest, development and economy.

The Committee members extended their gratitude to Sharma citing that he had fulfilled his responsibility in a balanced, impartial and influential way. RSS
