PHSC completes hearing of proposed ambassadors, next meeting tomorrow


Kathmandu, Aug 3: The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) on Wednesday morning carried out hearing of two more ambassadors designate.
The Committee held the hearing on Ramesh Prasad Khanal and Jhabindra Prasad Aryal. Khanal was recommended for Germany and Aryal for Egypt.
Both of them are Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Presenting the agendas in course of hearing, the proposed ambassadors expressed their commitment to further strengthening and expanding bilateral relationship between Nepal and the host countries as well as taking the ties into a new height.
Germany has been one of the biggest development partners for Nepal. There are 14 industries operating in Nepal in joint investment of Germany and Nepal.
Pashmina and herbal plants have been the exports of Nepal to Germany.
The proposed ambassador Khanal pledged that he will put his effort to bring in 50,000 tourists during his tenure against the existing 10,000 visiting Nepal on yearly basis.
The government has recommended 14 ambassadors who don’t serve the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The PHSC had carried out hearing on five ambassadors designate yesterday.
The next hearing on Lok Bahadur Thapa, ambassador designate for Belgium, will be done tomorrow. RSS
