NT workers protest management’s move

Kathmandu, July 7: Nepal Telecom Workers’ Union is in protest, accusing the management of trying to make the NT bankrupt through the attempts to amend its regulations without broad consultation with concerned authority.
They argued that a special proposal needs to be presented at the annual general assembly of the NT to amend its regulations.
They, however, said that a false information concerning endorsement of the amendment to the regulations was made public instead.
As part of their protest, they have been staging a sit-in at the office of the executive director of the telecom on a daily basis since July 3.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by general secretary of the union Dhirendra Prasad Datta said that regular functioning of the management and board of directors that go against the verdict of the Supreme Court and the Constitution of Nepal, 2063 would make the NT bankrupt.
Chairman of the union Raj Kumar Mehata said that they would enforce their agitation if their demands were not met. RSS
