Demand for establishing Tourist Guide Welfare Fund


Kathmandu, July 6: Tourist Guide Association of Nepal has demanded the government establish the Tourist Guide Welfare Fund of at least five million rupees.
The national tourist guide conference held here Tuesday called on the government to give the responsibility of management of entry fee to the UNESCO world heritages sites to the Association itself.
Inaugurating the conference, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviations Ananda Prasad Pokhrel applauded contribution of tourist guides in promoting the tourism sector. The Ministry was serious towards capacity building of tourist guides and providing facilities to them.
CPN (UML) Tourism Department Chief Surya Thapa spoke of the need of a Tourism University in the country. RSS
