PET in Nepal

Kathmandu, June 7: The Positron Emission Tomography (PET), a nuclear medicine or functional imaging test that is used to observe metabolic processes in the body is available for the first time in Nepal.

Indian Surya Diagnostic Private Limited brought the hi-end testing technology with an investment of Rs 130 million.

Introduction of the facility will benefit those suffering from cancer by helping them to diagnose their disease.

According to a data, around 15,000 patients suffering from cancer annually go to India and other countries for diagnosis of their disease.

A patient living with cancer has to pay Rs 62,000 for diagnosis of his or her disease in general. RSS
