Taplejung, July 10: A group of herdsmen stuck in a forest after a bridge was swept away by swollen river have been supplied food and clothing to last a few days.
The flood in Dhunsa river swept away a bridge on Thursday morning trapping the herdsman, District Police Office, Taplejung said. The villagers then supplied food and clothing to the locals who entered the forest with a herd of mountain goats.
The villagers supplied the food taking a seven hour long route to the herdsman, according to a local, Chungdak Sherpa. He added that the villagers would construct a wooden bridge over the river in a few days so that the herdsmen can return.
Locals say the construction of the wooden bridge would cost them Rs 600,000 and that it was not possible during intense rainfall. RSS
