Gurung and Tamang clinch gold medals


Kathmandu, June 14: Prakash Gurung and Sujita Tamang won gold medals in the 2nd Paramount Indo-Nepal Inter-School Karate Competition in the capital city on Monday.

In single Kata men’s category, Prakash touched on victory after defeating Nirmal Pun, while Sujita in individual Kata girl’s category bagged the coveted medal by defeating Harlin Pritikaur of India.

Organised by Paramount Academy and initiated by Japan Goju-Ryu karate Do-Kenwakai Nepal ‘Association’, the competition was held in the Academy premises.

Likewise, Sachin Gurung won gold in single Kata boys’ under-10 age group while Bisar Pritikaur of India won in individual Kata girls’ under-10 age group.

Similarly, in individual Kata boys’ under-12 group, Santosh KC notched gold and Jaskaran Priti from India secured gold in single Kata boys’ under-14 category.

Hridaya Rai won gold in single Kata girls’ under-14 age group whereas in individual Kata boys’ under-16 category, Sonu Thapa bagged gold. RSS
