Govt searching for avenues of development and prosperity: PM Oli


Kathmandu, June 22: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said the government was working to find out new avenues of development and prosperity.
PM Oli, who is also the Chairman of National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN), inaugurated its 15th Administrative Board Meet here today. The PM spoke of formulating policies on running the provincial states and holding the election of the local body as well as the central level election.
On the occasion, PM Oli stressed on need for preserving the cultural diversity based on social development created by our ancestors and also enlisting various castes and languages of the country.
We have achieved political rights along with the promulgation of the new constitution, the PM said while alleging an ‘attempt’ to push Nepal towards failure. He added that in a country with multi-languages and multi-castes, only the rights of a single caste cannot be protected.
It is unacceptable for a civilized society that strikes and struggles continue without any reason and even after rights are achieved, the PM said noting that a special programme was underway for development of Tarai. The PM was worried that the ‘stealthy political developments’ in Tarai would entangle the development programmes.
Assistant Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Resham Lama, former Minister Chabilal Bishwokarma, Indigenous Nationality Women’s Federation Chairperson, Shanti Jirel, among others commented on the rights of the indigenous nationalities. The conference will be held for two days. RSS
