Crossroads launched

Kathmandu, July 10: A collection of stories titled ‘Crossroads’ has been launched here in the capital on Saturday.
IACER, the institute of post-graduate studies in English affiliated to Pokhara University launched it as its second collection of stories.
The story succeeds Hulaki, a similar collection that appeared two years back. The present collection compiles seventeen stories by various Nepali writers writing in English.
Launching the collection, Prof Dr Sanjeev Upretri lauded the local and Nepalese flavour carried by the stories. He appreciated the authors for deconstructing the stock notion that everything Western is sublime, and everything non-Western is second-grade.
Similarly, Prof Dr Ammaraj Joshi noted the cultural backdrop against which the stories stand; he also appreciated the eclectic flavour of narrativization, and the experiments the authors have taken up in their language.
Speaking at the same programme, Prof Dr Arun Gupto observed that the publication was a mark of the team’s consistent engagement and hard work.
The book is edited by Mahesh Paudyal. RSS
