Baglung local peace committee receives 227 conflict-era cases


Baglung, June 15: The local peace committee, Baglung, has received a total of 227 cases of crime committed during a decade-long armed conflict.
Of the cases, 206 are related to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the remaining 21 belong to the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP).
Secretary of the local peace committee Laxmi Kumari Sharma said that the cases would be referred to concerned authority for necessary action. “The filed cases will be kept confidential. We only make public their numbers,” said Sharma.
However, Chairman of Conflict Victim Society Badri Bahadur KC said that some conflict victims are yet to be aware of the process to file conflict-era cases.
A total of 139 people were killed and 22 others were disappeared during the insurgency in the district. RSS
