35 families displaced by Doti floods


Doti, June 21: The lack of effective measures on the part of concerned authority in case of flooding has taken a toll on the residents of Tiltali in Doti as the flooded Tiltali river entered the village on Monday, displacing about three dozen families.
Thirty five families were displaced completely by the flooding while others 35 are at risk, Superintendent of Police Dilliraj Bista. The swollen river had also disrupted the KI Singh Highway.
Earlier one month ago, floods in the river also wrecked havoc in the village.
In charge of the police post in Tiltali Karna Bahadur Gharti said that they sounded the alarms and helped in the rescue operation right after the disaster. Meanwhile, the district police distributed 45 tents to the flood victims. RSS
